Current programmes (2024-2028)

In keeping with the general theme of one of LERMA’s research programme working on the notion of ‘visibilisation’, Britaix 17-18 will be working on the following theme in 2024-2028:

“Voir la modernité : soulèvement, dévoilement, révélation”

These notions will be approached through four main projects, each conducted by one or two seminar members:

Mapping Multifaith London (Anne Page), in collaboration with The Queen Mary Centre on Religion and Literature in English (London)

Places and Spaces of Devotion, c. 1600-1800 (Laurence Lux-Sterritt), in collaboration with the Institute of Medieval and Early Modern Studies (Durham)

The American revolution on screen  (Francesca Genesio and Gérard Hugues)

Afterlives (Ruth Menzies), in collaboration with the université de Lorraine and Intermédialités, in collaboration with Edinburgh University.

In addition, Britaix 17-18 is part of:

-the Aix-Marseille ‘Renaissance to Enlightenment” research seminar

-the new ReligiS French national programme led by the University of Strasbourg

It will be hosting an international conference on early-modern scandals in 2028. More information will be posted shortly.
