This is the new website of Britaix 17-18, a research seminar of Aix-Marseille University (Centre for the Study of the Anglophone World, LERMA, E.A. 853) devoted to 17th- and 18th-century Britain.

The seminar was created in 2002 and is open to academics, M.Phil and doctoral students, and early-career researchers.

It meets four times a year, around a common theme, to discuss aspects of British culture in the early-modern and Enlightenment periods, as well as new methodologies and academic subjects.

The themes are closely connected to the research programme being pursued in the British and Commonwealth Studies section of LERMA, and they are organised on a two-year basis, in keeping with the general thematic outline presented in the research strategy plan.

The seminar is financially backed  by LERMA and Institut Universitaire de France
